My name is Sarah Helm, I live in the semi-rural town of Baildon, (half way between Ilkley and Bradford) West Yorkshire. I’ve been ‘owned’ by Siamese and Orientals since 1978, breeding them since 1986 and showing them since 1988.
My first breeding qween was Velvet, a seal-point Siamese, she sadly died at 18 months old of liver failure. So I created my G.C.C.F. registered prefix VELVETENA in her honor as a lasting tribute to her.
Velvet (the 2nd),(ADQWEAM BLOSSOM) also a seal-point, was purchased two days later, (a house without a cat in it is not a home). She grew into a beautiful elegant lady, and along with her daughter Sophie (ADIVEAM SOPHIE CHIFFON), a chocolate-point Siamese, were the first two cats that I showed
Although they didn’t do very well on the show bench, Iwas totally ‘hooked’ on showing, as I am on breeding these wonderful, exquisite felines and their ‘cousins’ Orientals.
