Introduction to the other cats takes place when the kittens are mobile and they are used to general household noises, such as the television, radio, kettle and washing machine. The kittens are only penned at night until they are litter trained, then they are free to explore their kitten room, which is fully equipped for their needs. During the day they have free rein of the ground floor of the house.
Prior to leaving for their new homes at thirteen weeks old, my fully socialised, bombproof kittens are:
1 Wormed.
2 Vaccinated.
3 Given a health check by my vet.
4 Fully insured for the first six weeks in their new homes.
5 Provided with Kitten Packs from various cat food Manufactures.
6 Registered with the G C C F
7 Come with a Registration Transfer Slip.
8 Come with a five generation pedigree.
9 Given toys by me.
I am committed to my cattery remaining ‘small’, allowing me to raise my babies ‘under foot’, giving each kitten the lap space, love, cuddles and attention they deserve, and allowing my beautiful cats the space and adoration they require. Being a ‘small’ breeder can sometimes result in a waiting list for kittens, but the new ‘slaves’ are selected with care!
I pride myself on rearing happy, healthy, outgoing kittens that are part of the family environment from day one. Cuddled from the start of their lives, my kittens feel safe in human hands. Homing pets with personality is as important to me as homing show cats, as there are many more pets than show cats!
But if you would like to show your new Velvetena kitten, I will give you all the advice, encouragement, support and help you need. This amongst other things, makes being a breeder so worthwhile.
So if you are interested in being ‘owned’ by one or more of my little darlings, please contact me.
The kittens are born beside the fire, with me in attendence regardless of the time they are born, and then transferred to a covered kitten box until their little legs are strong enough to gallop on. They spend their first three weeks beside my bed at night, so I can keep an eye on them throughout the night.
I only let kittens go to homes that I feel are going to be suitable for the kittens. So please don,t feel I am being intrusive or rude when I ask questions about your home and your family.
My kittens are only allocated by reservation, I like to meet all prospective new ‘slaves’ in person, to discuss their needs and expectations. I expect every kitten placed as a PET, male or female to be neutered at the earliest opportunity, on the advice of their own vet.

All such kittens will be registered on the Non-Active Register, which means that no progeny from that cat can be registered with the G.C.C.F. without my prior knowledge and consent.
If you are looking for a cat to breed from, PLEASE say so from the beginning. I am happy to help and advise novices at any time. Although if you originally obtain a kitten from me as a PET , then later decide that you wish to have a litter, then PLEASE come back to me and we will discuss this!!!!
It is not unknown for a cat to be changed from the Non-Active Register to the Active Register, and I have done this on several occasions. Provided the cat is of good type, and in my OPINION would be of benefit to the breed!!!
I always stand by every kitten I place, I’m always at the end of the phone if there are any problems or concerns about the cat, no matter how old the cat is. Just because a cat has left my house, it doesn’t mean I stop caring or thinking about it!!! I will always do whatever it takes to help.
There is sometimes a waiting list as my girls have minds of their own, about when they are going to call and whether they want to have ‘second helpings’ of ‘nooky’.
Please contact me if you have a kitten enquiry, if I don’t have kittens available, I may know of other breeders that do, or may have some.
Please feel free to Email or phone me, if you have any questions about future litters!!!!
